We realize that even within the family of God not every believer will agree on all things.  However, here are some of the beliefs that we hold as essential and foundational:

  • There is one and only one living and true God. He is rightfully due our highest love, reverence, and obedience. God reveals Himself to us as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, with distinct personal attributes, but without division of nature, essence, or being. God the Father reigns over and cares for His universe, His creatures, and all of human history. He is all powerful, all knowing, all loving, and all wise. God the Son, was sent by God the Father. He lived the perfect life that we were supposed to live and died the death that we deserved, willingly taking our place. God the Spirit convinces, convicts, calls, changes and completes.
  • The Bible is God’s written word. It is true, inspired by the Holy Spirit, and is completely authoritative. It tells us what God says about Himself, us, and how we are saved from our sin through Jesus.
  • We are all created by God, in His image, but we have all rebelled against Him. We’re all in need of forgiveness and restoration. We all sin and fall short of the glory of God. Without His forgiveness, we will remain forever separated from Him.
  • Salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus alone. Jesus is the one and only way to God the Father and the only path to Heaven. Salvation cannot be earned through good works, morality, religious affiliation or family background. True salvation is evidenced by a changed life and attitude toward sin and God.
  • God saves, keeps, and forgives us by His divine grace. There is nothing we could ever to do to make ourselves worthy of His love or forgiveness. In turn, Christians are to love, forgive, restore, serve and worship with others.
  • God, in His own time and in His own way, will bring the world to its appropriate end. According to His promise, Jesus Christ will return personally and visibly to the earth, the dead will be raised, and Christ will judge everyone in the way that only He can. Those who have not placed their faith and hope in Christ will be forever separated from God and consigned to Hell, the place of everlasting punishment. Those who have been saved by faith in Christ will receive their reward and will live forever in Heaven.

We are always looking for individuals with a passion for Jesus and endurance sports to join our mission and team! However, even more important that joining our FWE little “t” team, is joining the big “T” team, that is the Team of Christ followers! If you have questions about THAT team we really want to hear from you!  A great first step, if you haven’t already done so, is to read The Secret to Finishing Well.

Not an athlete? That’s okay, we still really need you! Prayer is CRITICAL to this ministry. If you are willing and would like to support Finish Well Endurance as a prayer partner, please send us an email. We will send you updates about where we will be, what we are up to, and how you can specifically pray for the team.

For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.  1 TI 4:8 (NIV)
