God wants us to finish well!  His desire for us is a dynamic relationship with him now, as well as in the life to come!  So how do we respond to God’s offer of forgiveness and eternal life?  We must repent (make a mental U-turn) and place our faith in Jesus.  The Bible says, “if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”(Rom10:9 NIV)

In other words, we must decide to turn from our self-centered way of living, and give total control over (surrender mind, body, emotions, and will) to Jesus.  We must ask him for forgiveness, and give him his proper place as our life leader, trusting in who he is and what he has done for us.  The Bible gives us the promise that “to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.” (Jn 1:12 NIV)

The choices are simple, we can either respond “yes” to God, accepting his offer of forgiveness and life, or “no,” rejecting God and life, choosing death.  There simply is no neutral response. If you are ready to say “yes,” simply talk to Jesus.  Tell him what’s in your heart.  He already knows everything there is to know about us, and still he loves us.  (Still not sure where to start? Perhaps try something like THIS…) If you have truly turned your life over to Jesus, you can be assured that you are now officially a part of God’s family!  Remember, it’s not any special prayer that saves us, it’s faith in Jesus.  As a child of God, upon entering his family you receive the special gift of the Holy Spirit, who will live inside of you.  No longer slaves to our rule breaking ways, we can finally be free to live the lives God has called us to!  So what’s next!?!?!
